Just as you would not walk into a Chamber meeting (well, I hope you wouldn’t) and stand there and just starting spouting your marketing speil to people you don’t know and who have not asked, you don’t want to do the same thing on Social Media sites. Networking is and always has been about developing relationships.

Starting with the Negative..

I’m going to start with the negatives so that I can end with the positives. I’ve learned it’s the only way to live life.  If it gives you lemons then learn to make lemonade. But it does seem lately that I’ve had a lot of lemons come my way.

I’ve had to completely nuke my hosting account as of yesterday. I was hacked heavily early in the week and tried using my backups and it seems they were hacked also or there was code deep in the hosting account. I suppose I’ll never know. But it seems like it may have started the end of September or maybe before. First I was notified by Ebay that my account had been compromised. Shortly after that was fixed, I was hit by a major virus on my desktop. I run all the latest anti-virus software, good firewall and practice safe internet. But it seemed like it hit me anyway and got deep into my computer and actually prevented me from logging in. (even in safe-mode)  So I took the advice of my computer guy and wiped my hard drive. I had good backups which we cleaned thoroughly and I reinstalled all software with even new security precautions.  Read the rest of this entry »
